Abstract

Rogue wave phenomenon in the frame work of integrable higher-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation (HNLSE) is studied by evaluating the eigenvalue of the associated eigenvalue equation in the inverse scattering transform. Our results reveal that soliton collision is one of the mechanisms for generating rogue waves.
