Pure-Quartic Solitons: the Interaction of Fourth Order Dispersion and Self Phase Modulation

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the existence of bright solitons arising from the interaction of anomalous fourth order dispersion with self-phase modulation. These pure-quartic solitons can exist in the normal group velocity dispersion regime.
