Saturable Absorption in a Short Graded-Index Multimode Optical Fiber Using Nonlinear Multimodal Interference

Abstract

Nonlinear multimodal ineterference in a device composed of a graded-index multimode optical fiber coupled to two single-mode fibers on each end is investigated. This structure shows potential applications in nonlinear switching and saturable absorption.
