Highly Efficient Second and Third Harmonic Generation in Thin Films with Near-Zero Permittivity

Abstract

Nonlinear processes are enhanced enormously in slabs of materials exhibiting resonant plasma features. We show that multi-plasma-resonances may further boost the nonlinear response, leading to pump depletion for relatively low irradiance values.
