Generation of femtosecond optical vortices by molecular modulation in a Raman-active crystal

Abstract

We have generated multi-color optical vortices in Raman-active crystals such as PbWO4 by using two-color femtosecond laser pulses. Our topological charge measurements show that high-order vortices are unstable and tend to split to several charge 1 vortices.
