Abstract

Using novel dot-in-bulk nanocrystals comprising a quantum-confined CdSe core overcoated with a thick, bulk-like CdS shell, we realize a new antibunching mechanism (dynamic Coulomb blockade), which allows for simultaneous generation of quantum and classical light from the same nanostructure.
