Ultrafast light field control of electric currents in metal-dielectric interfaces

Abstract

The fast oscillating electric field of intense few-cycle near-infrared laser pulses with well-defined carrier-envelope phase is exploited to generate charge carriers and control their ultrafast motion within heterogeneous nanoscaled solid-state interfaces.
