Frequency-upconversion photon-number-resolving detector for wavelengths around 1 μm

Abstract

We demonstrated the photon-number-resolving detection at 1.04 μm by coincidence frequency upconverison. A total detection efficiency of 3.2% was achieved with a quite low background noise probability of 0.0002 per pulse.
