Abstract

The pump with diode lasers at 879 nm, directly into the 4F3/2 emitting level, allowed realization of intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:GdVO4-LiB3O5 lasers that generated high-power green light at 0.53 μm. Continuous-wave 5.1 W output power was achieved in an end-pumping scheme, and 9.1 W output power was generated when a multi-pass pumping scheme was employed. The optical-to-optical efficiency was around 0.30, in both configurations.
