All-Optical De-Multiplexing by Cross-Phase Modulation in Pattern-Independent Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

Abstract

The features of an ultra-fast all-optical SOA-based interferometric de-multiplexer are investigated. It is shown how a proper management of the SOAs nonlinearities can improve the de-multiplexer performances, preserving the extracted channel integrity from the pattern-dependence.
