Inhomogeneous Tensorial Nonlinear Responses from an Array of Gold Nanoparticles

Abstract

We use second- and third-harmonic-generation microscopy to address nonlinear responses of individual gold nanoparticles in an array. Widely-variable, polarization-dependent responses of individual particles indicate tensorial inhomogeneities in the sample.
