Diffraction effects in copper-doped helium-implanted LiNbO3 waveguide

Abstract

We report an experimental observation of leaky substrate TM modes diffraction on a grating-like periodical structure formed by defects of waveguide layer. Appearance of such defects we explain by features of copper-doped helium-implanted optical LiNbO3 waveguide fabrication process.
