Anomalous Front Dynamics in Dissipative Systems

Abstract

We theoretically and experimentally study the dynamics of fronts in a recirculating fiber loop with semiconductor amplifiers, saturable absorbers and filters. Depending on filter bandwidth different peculiar destabilization scenarios as soliton emission and anomalous shrinkage were observed.
