Compensation of Kerr self-focusing using negative phase shifts from the cascade quadratic nonlinearity

Abstract

We demonstrate theoretically and experimentally the compensation of positive Kerr phase shifts with negative phases generated by cascade quadratic processes. Initial experiments show correction of the effects of small-scale self-focusing.
