Abstract

Frequency conversion via optical parametric oscillation in nonlinear χ2 materials is a well-known phenomena whose effects were demonstrated at the inception of the study of nonlinear optics. However, only through recent efforts has this frequency conversion mechanism allowed optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) to be regarded as promising sources of broadly tunable coherent radiation [1].
