In the past the considerable theoretical and experimental interest in the optical Dark Spatial Solitons (DSSs) is motivated not only by the intriguing physical picture behind but also by the possible applications in all-optical guiding and switching devices. The only known truly two-dimensional DSSs are the Optical Vortex Solitons (OVSs).
