Abstract

This paper describes developments in unrepeatered systems architecture which result in a significant reduction of Capital and Operational Expenditures. We report 8 × 120 Gb/s transmission over a cascade of two legacy spans of 303.5 km (59.7 dB) and 342.9 km (60.8 dB).
