Toward Deeply Virtualized Elastic Optical Networks

Abstract

We discuss the virtualization in optical networks from the elastic networking level to sliceable equipment level. We propose a novel transport system architecture based on equipment level virtualization that achieves fine granular sub-port level grooming in the optical domain.
