Blind Adaptive Equalization Algorithm Based on Constellation Transformation for DP 16-QAM Systems

Abstract

We demonstrate a novel blind equalizer based on a constellation transformation, where a 16-QAM signal is mapped into a QPSK constellation. Subsequently, the filter coefficients for an adaptive equalizer are updated using a constant modulus or decision-directed cost function.
