Abstract

A Mach-Zehnder interferometer-based 4-port optical circulator is fabricated in a Si-nanowire waveguide using the direct bonding technique. The circulator operation is demonstrated with the highest isolation of 15.3 dB at a wavelength of 1531 nm.
