Reliability and Scalability of Access Networks with Ladder Structure

Abstract

We analyze the failure rate and unavailability of redundant access network models, and show that hybrid WDM/TDM-PON architectures can significantly improve their unavailability in large scale regions and enable increased capacity per fiber.
