Spectrum Compactness based Defragmentation in Flexible Bandwidth Optical Networks

Abstract

This paper proposes a novel Spectrum Compactness based Defragmentation scheme to maximize the profitability of defragmentation. Numerical simulation shows that there exists an optimum load region to operate defragmentation.
