Behavior-Aware User-Assignment in Hybrid PON Planning

Abstract

We investigate an efficient user-assignment scheme for planning a hybrid WDM/TDM-PON by exploiting users’ behavior, namely the complementary daily traffic profiles of business and residential customers. Our algorithm significantly reduces the number of wavelengths needed.
