4-Bit All-Optical Buffer Memory with Shift Register Function Using Polarization Bistable VCSELs

Abstract

We have demonstrated a 4-bit all-optical buffer memory with shift register function using four 1.55-μm polarization bistable VCSELs for the first time. This buffer memory is constructed by parallel connected two sets of shift-register memory.
