Abstract
The GMPLS RSVP-TE signaling protocol is widely used in intelligent optical networks. Faster signaling processing time provides shorter time of resource on demand and restoration for failure. This paper proposes a software solution with the Planar-Chain Approach (PCA), which utilizes the planar-chain data storage structure in the State Block of RSVP-TE to reduce the signaling processing time complexity from O(N2) to O(N). Numerical results demonstrate that the PCA is much faster than the traditional Linear-Chain Approach (LCA).
