Abstract

According to The Yankee Group July 2003 report, “Metro Ethernet Services Could Change the Face of Telecom, but Will They Have the Chance?” there will be aggressive growth for metro Ethernet services over the next several years. However, current revenue projections show that Ethernet still will represent only 10 percent of the local private-line, dedicated Internet access, and FR/ATM markets in 2007. Therefore, viable Ethernet solutions must harmonize with legacy networks.
