Semianalytical Formulation of Leaky-mode Resonance in Periodic Elements with Asymmetric Profiles

Abstract

The properties of resonant leaky modes at the second stopband are investigated with a semianalytical model applicable to asymmetric-profile gratings. The dispersion properties and guided-mode resonance features are in excellent agreement with exact formulation.
