Effective Nonlinearity of Trigonal Crystals of Symmetry Class 3 on the Example of the Non-Oxide BaGa2GeSе6

Abstract

We determine the optimum propagation direction for maximum effective nonlinearity in the recently developed BaGa2GeSe6 nonlinear crystal based on magnitude and relative sign of its nonlinear coefficients with proper octant assignment involving the axis sense.
