Design and development of a low-cost tunable midinfrared light source based on single pass optical parametric generation in a quasi-phase-matched lithium niobate crystal

Abstract

We report on the development of a low-cost tunable mid-IR light source using a single pass optical parametric generation system. A passively Q-switched laser, delivering high peak power, pumps the periodically poled lithium niobate crystal.
