Milliwatt-level mid-infrared frequency combs based on difference frequency generation

Abstract

We report on a mid-IR frequency-comb source based on difference frequency generation in GaSe, covering the 8–14 µm region with 4 mW maximum average power, starting from a 250 MHz Er:fiber laser.
