Efficient 3D Nanofocusing Based on Surface Plasmon Polaritons

Abstract

We present a nanotaper for coupling light from a dielectric waveguide into a nanoscale plasmonic waveguide. Numerical simulation shows that light can be focused into a 21nm-by-24nm spot with efficiency over 60%.
