Anomalous refraction in silicon-based 2-dimensional photonic crystal structures

Abstract

Silicon-based 2-dimensional slab photonic crystal structures were designed to exhibit anomalous refraction in the near-infrared region. Negative refraction and self-collimation were experimentally observed in the integrated device structures.
