Quasiperiodic Photonic Crystals: a Structure between Random and Periodic

Abstract

The optical response (band gaps, effect of disorder, defect modes) of quasiperiodic crystals made of high-index dielectric cylinders is explained in terms of Mie resonances. Moreover, these studies are extended towards random photonic crystal.
