Abstract
There has been an increasing interest given to laser additive manufacturing (LAM) in recent years from across the global. GE has been one of the leading industries engaging in this important area of technology for over two decades and achieved a great deal of success from both technical and commercial perspectives by solving some of the most challenging manufacturing problems. This presentation will present the chronicles of the technology development and representative applications in GE, as well as authors’ view of critical elements applying the laser additive manufacturing to broader industries.
