Abstract

We fabricated a terahertz (THz) metamaterial for detecting four bacteria. The obvious THz resonance frequency shift differences were observed between different bacteria and between bacteria in different living states. THz metamaterial has the potential to be a rapid and labelfree tool for bacterial identification.
