Abstract

In this study we show the applications of a lidar system on aerosol observation, characterization and the measurement of trace gases. We select several cases to demonstrate the role of lidar in atmospheric remote sensing, including Saharan dust, Asian dust, methane measurements and aerosol fluorescence. Lidar is a useful tool for atmospheric study and its capability is been extended with the development of lidar technique.
