Gradient-index measurement method of thermal lens in high-power laser processing

Abstract

Three-dimensional gradient-index generated by the thermal lens effect in high-power laser processing often causes focal position deviation, which is here shown to be measured on the basis of the Lagrangian optics with the background-oriented schlieren.
