Abstract

This article gives an overview of the challenges a designer has to consider while implementing the Free Space Communication System using laser and how it’s applied in various fields and the modulations schemes used in detail. Advantages of FSO result from the basic characteristics of laser beam, especially from its high frequency, coherency and low divergence, which lead to efficient delivery of power to a receiver and a high information carrying capacity.
