Abstract

A high peak-power and narrow linewidth 1.9 μm fiber gas Raman source is demonstrated for the first time. A hydrogen-filled hollow-core fiber is pumped with a 1064 nm microchip laser, generating 1909 nm pulses of > 18 kW peak-power and < 0.05 nm linewidth, by stimulated Raman scattering of hydrogen molecules.
