Femtosecond Excited State Dynamics of Phenanthroimidazole Derivative Molecules Through Excited State Intramolecular Proton Transfer

Abstract

Dual emission induced by addition of distilled water in pure solution in a novel phenanthroimidazole derivative molecule was observed. Transient absorption measurements elucidated excited state proton transfer as the primary photo-process resulting in the observed emission.
