Vortex laser generation with controllable topological charges in a spiral phase defect resonator

Abstract

We propose an optical cavity with spiral phase defect for particular vortex laser generation. Utilizing a reflective spatial light modulator that creates variable spiral phase defect, vortex beams with controllable topological charges are demonstrated.
