Modeling Phase and Amplitude Errors in Optical Phased Arrays and Comparison to Measurement

Abstract

We model optical phased arrays. Random intensity errors minimally affect the beam. Random phase errors (Δϕ <0.3×2π) substantially affect the beam power but only minimally the beam width. Systematic errors in the splitters are also investigated.
