Optical Traps and Colloidal Phase Transitions for Ultra-Broadband Optical Limiting

Abstract

Focused electro-magnetic radiation concentrates nanoparticles relying only on the magnitude of the optical electric field and ignoring its frequency. This enables broadband optical limiting in the infrared when coupled with a colloidal phase transition.
