Direct Time-domain Observation of Attosecond Electron Dynamics in Solids using Attosecond Pulse Sequences

Abstract

We use attosecond pulses to measure the fastest intrinsic processes in solids. Our results reveal the influence of the band structure on excited-state lifetimes and extract fundamental electron interactions including attosecond electron screening and scattering.
