A low-power, electrically-controllable alkali source for cold-atom microsystems

Abstract

We develop a low-power, solid-state electrochemical alkali source. Vapor-phase sinking and sourcing of Rb atoms have been demonstrated with just 5 V opposite-polarity voltages. The device is of considerable interest for cold-atom microsystems.
