Confining Low Energy Light with Tapered Conical Plasmonic Nanowires

Abstract

We show that tapered conical nanowires modified to have embedded two-dimensional electron gas plasmons can enhance low-energy, long-wavelength light confinement at the tip of the formed resonant optical cavity, making them useful for optoelectronic devices.
