The effect of Laser Induced Periodic Surface Structures on Wear and Friction Coefficient

Abstract

The influence of laser surface texturing on tribological properties of stainless steel was studied. Linear Reciprocating Tribometer (LRT) was used to observe evolution of friction coefficient and wear versus number of cycles performed.
