Normally Transparent Liquid-Crystal Smart Glass for Augmented Reality Head-Up Displays

Abstract

We report a translucency-tunable cholesteric liquid crystal window, of which the transparent state is the only stable state upon removal of electric fields. The relaxation from the scattering to clear state takes only 100’s ms.
