Quantum light from individual defects in atomically thin semiconductors

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

2D materials are being actively investigated for novel optoelectronic devices. We present single photon emission from localized defects in monolayers of WSe2. We perform optical spectroscopy and demonstrate Stark effect in these emitters.
