Abstract

A new kind of partially coherent beams with nonuniform correlated function in x-direction and Laguerre-Gaussian correlated Schell-model functions in y-direction which called a nonnuiform Laguerre-Gaussian correlated (NLG) partially coherent beam have been introduced. It is found that the intensity distribution of a NLG partially coherent beam exhibits self-focusing, self-shifting and self-splitting effect. Beams may extend multi-characteristic with the help of modulating the correlation function in different directions of a partially coherent beam.
